Stephen Edwin King (1947) is a famous American writer of horror novels, supernatural fiction, suspense and science fiction. He has sold more than 350 million copies of his books, many of which have been adapted to movies, television series and comics.

King has published more than 60 novels, seven of which he did under the pseudonym of Richard Bachman. He has also written about 200 stories, most of which have been published in book collections.

King has received numerous awards throughout his life, and in 2015, King received the National Medal of Arts from the National Arts Foundation of the United States for his contributions to literature.
